ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Movie Ideas, Movie Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show thousands of movie titles and TV shows from a number of producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 4,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including all the titles that  part of the ScreenVue Vault.

All such service providers are contractually required to keep your data safe, use it only for the purposes agreed, and delete it when it is no longer required. They have agreed not share it, nor use it for their marketing purposes.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Movie Ideas, Movie Views, and Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of content: 
- *Movie Ideas*: Has the "light-bulb icon," where you would use your own movie (Digital, Stream, Blu-ray, or DVD you already have access to) with our cues and details; as this idea is not available as a View or Download.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including movie content? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include movie content, the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming movie content - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream movie content inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include movie content, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

A dozen dirty and tired men are panning for gold at the river during the California Gold Rush.  Though few men will find the treasure they seek, many believe they are among those lucky few.  One man scoops a pan full of sediment from the bottom of the river and begins to shake it.  His eyes widen in amazement as he finds a large gold nugget.  He gives a loud whoop in celebration: "We've found gold, boys!"

Michael and Angel’s relationship deepens, built on honesty and growing affection. Angel falls fully in love with him and genuinely wants to stay. After they help a woman in labor and welcome her family into their home, an evening around the fire with children laughing shifts everything. Watching Michael’s joy with them, Angel’s confidence collapses. Believing she was made sterile by a forced abortion, she pulls away, convinced she can never give him the family he longs for.

Angel, convinced she can never give Michael the family he longs for, plans a tender evening to show her love one last time. Believing that Miriam—the eldest daughter of the family they’ve taken in—would be a better match for him, she slips away the next morning. She leaves her wedding ring with a note asking Miriam to look after Michael, certain he deserves a future she cannot give.

Angel tells Michael that she will never be able to be the wife he wants: "I don't know how to love.  I've got too many demons."  Michael tells her that he has his own share of demons in his past.  He shares about his life as the son of an abusive plantation owner.  But God delivered Michael from his demons through a slave named Ezra.  Ezra taught Michael about God and about forgiveness.  He escaped from his father's plantation and began a new life as a farmer.  Michael: "Sometimes you have to leave behind what you were born into to become who God meant you to be." Michael continues to surprise her with his gentleness. One morning, he leads her outside to watch the sunrise, quietly telling her he loves her as his wife. She challenges his words, confused by the fact that he still refuses to sleep with her. Michael simply tells her he’s waiting—he wants her to come to him when she’s truly ready--which she finally is.

Abigail Cowen

Angel is running away from Michael.  He chases after her in the wagon, but when he approaches her, she slaps him, crying out: "You don't own me!"  Michael calmly hands her a blanket to keep her warm and a supply of water.  He reminds her of the choices she faces...a nineteen-mile walk back towards a life of slavery, or a one-mile downhill trek back home to warmth, food, and love.  He drives the wagon back home and leaves her to her decision.  Later, Angel enters the cabin and sits down in silence.  Michael brings her a bowl of stew and, while she eats, he gently washes her blistered feet.  Angel is astounded by his kindness: "Why are you doing this?"  Michael: "One mile can be harder to walk than twenty."

Cleo warns Angel about the world as she sees it: "Nobody cares about anybody in this world."  Angel thinks back to when her mother first gave in to the pressure to become a prostitute.  Alone in the world with a child to support, she was selling the last of her jewelry only to be told it was just glass.  The storekeeper made an offer of another kind and, to her own horror, Mae accepted.  Thus began the horrible life that Mae would endure until the day of her untimely death.  Within a short span of time, Angel helps her coughing mother into bed and says the Lord's Prayer with her.  And, when Mae takes her final breath, Angel is heartbroken.  The doctor gives Angel the cross from around her mother's neck, but Angel takes it outside and throws it into the river, angry at the God who took her mother.  Cleo, finishing: "That is God's truth.  Best you know that now, child."  (Caution: prostitution)


Angel, to Michael: "Can I ask you something?"  Michael: "Yeah."  Angel: "Does your God talk to you a lot?"  Michael: "He talks to everyone."  Angel, bitterly: "My mama prayed.  She prayed, but God never heard her.  'Cause He doesn't care.  So, if you're telling me that your God said to marry me, you know He's punishing you.  'Cause that's what He does.  Grinds people into dust."


Angel, Lucky, and Mai Ling are drinking liquor and talking about their terrible childhoods.  Mai Ling turns to Angel: "You got any big plans?"  Angel: "Plans?"  Lucky: "You gotta have plans, Angel.  You've got to hope for something more in this world outside of this...paradise."  (The three young women work in a brothel.)  Angel, cynically: "Hope for what?"  Lucky: "You can't get by without hope."  Angel: "I get by."  Mai Ling: "How?"  Angel lifts her glass: "Never look back.  Never look forward."


Angel returns home and finally tells Michael her true name—Sarah—something she has never shared with anyone, because it was the one piece of herself no one could take. Michael welcomes her back with a gentle embrace and places her wedding ring in her hand. Years later, the two are shown fishing with their young son, Angel visibly pregnant, their family whole at last.

Angel is about to confront the patrons of Duke's brothel with the truth about his abuse of girls.  She stands backstage, waiting to go on, and breathes a prayer to the God she has always spurned: "God, I want to believe.  If You're real, please help me."  She remembers herself as a child, when the world still looked bright.  And she remembers diving into the cold river after her mother's death to reach out for the cross pendant falling slowly down into the depths.  (See clip # CV11135) Young Angel's hand reaches out for the cross as grown Angel prays: "I need You.  Help me."  Angel remembers the blessings God brought her in Michael and in the sunrise: "I want to believe."  Young Angel grasps the cross in her hand.  


Angel finally says yes to Michael's proposal.

Angel finds work at a café instead of returning to her former life. But on her first day, Duke—newly arrived in town—threatens her employer and forces her back under his control. Drawing on her renewed sense of worth and faith, Angel exposes his exploitation of young girls. Duke denies everything and turns violent, but a bystander intervenes, allowing Angel to help free the girls and reveal the truth. The community, horrified by Duke's actions, turn into an outraged mob and lynch him.
