ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

Puss and Kitty are searching for the Wishing Star, the mythical place that will give them the desire of their heart.  They eagerly read the words that appear on the magic map that leads to the star: "Follow this enchanted chart.  It knows your path and knows your heart."  When Puss puts his paw on the map, a path appears, and the beautiful, colorful forest around them transforms into a fire-filled valley of darkness and danger.  Puss's jaw drops as he reads from the map, seeing that his destinations are: The Valley of Incineration, Undertaker Ridge, and the Cave of Lost Souls." The lava-filled forest changes to a black and green swamp, filled with gaseous fumes.  Kitty, reading her path: "Swamp of Infinite Sorrows, Mountains of Misery, the Abyss of Eternal Loneliness?  There's something wrong with this map!"  Puss: "I guess there is a different terrible path for everyone."  Perrito puts his paw on the map.  Their surroundings change once more, back to the beautiful and peaceful forest they began in.  Perrito, reading his map: "Mine says we skip through the Pocket full of Posies, then drift down the River of Relaxation, wander the Fields of Quick and Easy Solutions, and arrive at the Star!  Wow, that sounds wonderful!"  Puss and Kitty, together, to Perrito: "You hold the map."

The sleeping giant of Del Mar awakens, tearing the roof off of the building.  While the townspeople run in fear, the giant begins collecting people to put in his log purse.  The only one not running away is Puss.  He is running towards the giant, promising to save the people who have been captured.  While musicians play the song, "Who Is Your Favorite Fearless Hero," Puss launches himself directly at the giant's head.  He flies, brave and true, towards the giant, impaling his thumbnail with his sword: "Spanish Splinter!"  The crowd cheers as Puss courageously fights, laughing in the face of danger.  Puss doesn't let his tiny size deter him from battling the giant.  He rescues the people and single-handedly takes down the villain.  


Jack Horner, collector of magical memorabilia, opens a bottomless carpetbag and starts rifling through his treasures, hoping to find something to help him defeat the Giant Posies.  He comes upon a glowing jar and opens it with an excited flourish: "Pay dirt!  All right, magical locust, defoliate!  Fly and feast!  Eat those flowers!"  A cricket wearing suspenders and a little cap looks at him in surprise.  Cricket, with a voice reminiscent of Jimmy Stewart: "I'm not a magic locust.  Why, I'm not a locust at all."  Jack: "What are you then?  Some sort of demon grasshopper?  A deadly fairy?  Put a spell on the forest, then!"  Cricket: "I don't cast spells."  Jack: "Well, what do you do?"  Cricket: "Well, I-I-I judge you.  I sit on your shoulder and judge your actions and the quality of your character.  I'm your conscience!"  Jack, disappointed: "I really did overpack."  The cricket hops onto Jack's shoulder.  Jack callously continues rifling through his bag while his men are being decimated by the deadly flowers.  Cricket: "Aren't you gonna help them, Jack?  You're losing a lot of men."  But Jack doesn't care, knowing he has so many magical items in his bag that he can afford to lose all his men.  Cricket starts to protest until Jack pulls a magnificent Phoenix out of his bag.  Awestruck by the mythical bird, the cricket starts to pontificate: "She's the symbol of rebirth and the eternal..."  The cricket's words cut off with a scream as he sees Jack put the bird in a strangle-hold and use her for a flamethrower.  Cricket: "I really have my work cut out for me on this one."


As Cricket watches Jack's soulless behavior again and again, he wonders for the first time if he is dealing with a lost cause: "I'm starting to think you don't appreciate the value of a life."  Jack begins walking across a bridge suspended over a deep cavern.  The bridge is made up of a human chain of Jack's servants.  Jack protests his lack of love, pointing out the straining backs he's walking on: "I love these guys!"  Cricket, whispering to himself: "There's good in all people.  There's good in all people."  Hoping for some insight into Jack's hard heart, the cricket asks him about his childhood.  Jack, sighing self-pityingly: "You know, I never had much as a kid.  Just loving parents and stability and a mansion and a thriving baked goods enterprise for me to inherit.  Useless crap like that.  But, once I get my wish, I'll finally have the one thing that will make me happy!  All of the magic in the world!  For me!  And no one else gets any."  He looks into his crystal ball, showing the horrified cricket an image of himself, limitlessly powerful, reigning over a subservient Earth.  Jack orders his drivers to bring his carriage across the human bridge.  With the horses and carriage on their backs, the servants can no longer hold on and the bridge breaks, sending horses, carriage, and servants into the depths.  Cricket is horrified, but Jack doesn't care: "You know what they say?  Can't bake a pie without losing a dozen men."  Jack laughs.  Cricket can take it no more.  He can no longer be the conscience of a man with no heart: "Your wish is horrible!  You're horrible!  You're an irredeemable monster!"  Jack, flicking the bug off his shoulder: "What took you so long, idiot?"


Puss is informed by the town doctor that he has lost eight of his nine lives. The doctor suggests to Puss that he should retire, but he refuses. That night in a bar, Puss meets a black-hooded wolf (who later reveals himself to be Death), who disarms and wounds him in a swordfight.

Puss runs through a dark and scary forest where everything looks dangerous and menacing.  Breathing hard, the cat is in a full-blown panic, with no plan other than to run.  Finally, he collapses from exhaustion at the base of a tree.  Perrito, who has chased after him, is concerned for his friend.  He runs up to him and puts a concerned paw on his chest: "Puss!  What's wrong?"  But Puss is too frightened to answer.  While he hyperventilates, his heartbeat is so loud that it drowns out every other sound.  Perrito sees that his friend is in serious distress.  Not knowing anything else he can do to help, Perrito simply rests his head on Puss's chest until his heartbeat starts to slow.  Finally, Puss stops hyperventilating and puts a hand out to rub Perrito's head.  Puss: "Thank you, Perrito." 


Puss awakens to find himself at the doctor's office.  After allowing the doctor to give a cursory examination, Puss stands to leave, believing himself, as usual, to be immortal.  But the doctor tries to get Puss to understand that this latest health crisis is serious: "You died."  Even the knowledge that he is down one of his nine lives is not enough to discourage the confident cat: "Relax!  I am Puss in Boots!  I laugh at death!"  With nine lives, Puss has never worried about danger.  Doctor: "And how many times have you died already?"  Puss, casually: "I never really counted.  I am not really a math guy, you know?"  The doctor insists Puss catalogue his deaths.  As Puss thinks back, we see eight scenes of wasted lives.  Eight times that Puss's cavalier attitude toward death and lack of concern led him to lose one of his precious lives.  The first is lost when Puss is running with the bulls in Pamplona and he stops to flirt with a lady.  The second is lost when Puss cheats at poker during a game with a pack of dogs.  The third death occurs when Puss, after drinking too much milk, brags that cats always land on their feet.  He jumps off a tower to prove it.  The fourth demise results from a bench-pressing accident: "Puss in Boots doesn't need a spotter!"  The fifth is a thoughtless attempt to save time by travelling by cannon.  The sixth occurred when Puss deliberately gorged himself on a platter of shellfish, even knowing he had a dangerous allergy.  The seventh was another instance of Puss not listening to advice.  Gingy, staring at the shuddering flames: "Puss!  I think you set the oven too high!"  Puss: "I am a master of the baking.  Watch!"  Puss opens the oven and thus ends his seventh life.  Puss, finishing his deadly countdown: "And then there was the giant today."  (Puss wasn't actually killed by the giant.  His ego brought about his death when he stayed after the vanquishing to brag.)  Puss, casually: "So, what is that?  Like, four?"  Doctor, seriously: "That makes eight, Puss.  You are down to your last life."

Puss, Kitty Softpaws, and Perrito finally have the map to the Wishing Star. But when Kitty refuses to share it, Puss tries manipulating her with a cute face, featuring very large eyes. Unfazed, she makes her own cute face and the competition is on! Overwhelmed by all the cuteness, Perrito faints.

Kitty is trying to teach Perrito how to use puppy-dog eyes to get people to trust him.  Poor Perrito struggles to look cute, but Kitty's got it down pat.  She makes her eyes look huge and whispers: "Trust me."  Perrito: "Of course I trust you and Puss, even without the eyes."  Kitty, cynically: "Yeah?  Big mistake."  Perrito, innocently: "What do you mean?  You're my friends."  Kitty, who has been burned many times: "You know what trust gets you?  A sock, a rock, and a swim in the river."  (She refers to Perrito's youth, when his brothers put him in a sock, added a rock, and threw him in the river to drown him.)  Perrito, who still wears the remnants of the sock as a sweater, hasn't let his past make him hard: "You have to trust somebody, right?"  Kitty: "Not me.  Whenever I've let my guard down, I've been double-crossed, declawed, played, and betrayed.  Never again.  I am a solo act.  I keep my secrets, and I play my cards close.  That's how you get a winning hand.  Take it from me.  Never trust anyone."


After Puss meets Death the Bounty Hunter and is traumatized, he flees to the house of cat lady Mama Luna. Later, Puss meets an optimistic Chihuahua disguised as a cat, whom he calls Perrito.
