ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

When young Andrew asks Alex what Russia is like, Alex describes a beautiful countryside that Greville wishes he could see.  Greville: "But then, of course, your government isn't all that keen on foreigners just wandering around."  Andrew, as blunt as only a child can be: "Do the Russians really hate us that much?"  Andrew's mother is embarrassed, but Alex answers the boy honestly: "Our politicians hate your politicians.  And yours hate ours - - do not forget that.  But the people, your father and I, we do business.  We spend time together.  I meet his family.  Maybe we're only two people...but this is how things change."


After accepting the mission, Greville asks the two spies if he’ll be putting himself in danger.  Mr. MI6 responds: “Let me put this delicately. You’re a middle-aged businessman who drinks a bit too much and isn’t exactly in top shape. During the war you were a private and never even saw combat. My point is, if this mission was the least bit dangerous, you really are the last man we’d send.”

When Emily and Dickie ask Greville to act as a British spy in communist Russia, he answers with an immediate, "No."  Emily continues to persuade him, assuring him that he will merely be a courier and that the risk to him will be minimal.  Greville asserts that he has a family and doesn't want to take that risk.  Dickie: "We've both put ourselves in harm's way when necessary and this is terribly necessary, Greville."  Greville, firmly: "Then, might I suggest you find someone who's suited for it.  Sorry.  I really have done all I can for you."  Emily takes Greville's hand, deciding to break confidentiality to give him a hint of what would happen if their mission failed.  She describes the lackluster fallout shelters in Greville's home, in his child's school, telling him that the warning they would get when the nuclear bomb hit would never be enough time to find safety.  Greville is stunned to learn the mission he's been on has been about nuclear warfare.  Emily warns him that he would spend his last minutes before the strike thinking about how he could have helped...but didn't.

It is a time of international crisis.  Russia, intent on proving its nuclear strength, is determined to teach the United States a lesson.  Penkovsky, high up in the Russian government, only wants peace.  He decides to provide the United States with secret Russian intelligence regarding their nuclear arsenal.  Pulling documents out of a secret door in his desk, Penkovsky goes out onto the street and watches for the two young American tourists he knows are in the area.  Spotting them, he follows them to the underground passageways and approaches them, claiming to need a light for his cigarette.  Penkovsky knows he may only have a moment before enemy eyes and ears are aware of his actions and so he gets quickly to the point: "You are Americans, yes?"  Young man: "Yes, sir.  We're on a summer trip."  Penkovsky, with a furtive look around, pulls an envelope out of his pocket and holds it out to the men: "Please.  Take this to your embassy.  It is vital.  I have no other way."  The desperation in Penkovsky voice is palpable.  One of the young men is frightened and wants nothing to do with the situation: "Come on, let's get out of here."  Penkovsky directs his instructions to the other young man, handing him the envelope: "Do not go back to your hotel, straight to the embassy.  Give this only to the Deputy Chief of Mission."  Footsteps approach and Penkovsky quickly disappears.  The two friends look at each other fearfully.  The young man who didn't want to get involved stays behind.  However, the other young man knows it is his duty to serve his country, despite the danger.  He walks purposefully to the embassy, letter in hand.  At the gate, he shows his identity to the Russian guard, announcing that he is an American citizen.  The guard allows him to enter the embassy. 


When Emily and Dickie inform Greville that they will be unable to help Penkovsky defect, he stares at them, flabbergasted.  Greville: "That's it?  We're going to abandon him and let the KGB murder him whenever they get round to it?"  Dickie, calmly: "This is a hard truth.  But, if things were the other way around, Penkovsky would abandon you."  Greville, passionately: "No.  No, he would not."  Dickie: "He's a professional.  We use people.  He would do just what I'm doing now.  Move on.  Go home."  He reaches out to take Greville's arm, but Greville, disgusted, moves away.  Dickie: "Go home to your family."  As the two are about to leave, Greville calls out: "You're wrong!"  He assures the two spies that he knows Penkovsky; they have a relationship: "He would never leave me to die.  And I'm not leaving him."  Greville, a salesman with a family, volunteers to go back into communist Moscow to help extract a Russian spy who is his friend.


After agreeing to pose as a business partner to gain intelligence from the Soviets, Greville meets his Russian source, ‘Ironbark,’ and asks what happens if he’s caught.  Ironbark assures him that he will not be.  But if he is, they would only hold him in a Russian prison for a couple years.  Ironbark then reaffirms that they will not be caught: “I’m better at this than they are…”  Greville: “But I’m not!”

Worried about his friend Penkovsky's fate should he be left behind in Russia, Wynne volunteers against the advice of MI6 to go back to Moscow to help arrange Penkovsky's defection. However, the Soviets foil the plan and pull Wynne off a plane just moments before take off.

An emaciated Greville greets his wife joyfully from behind the bars of his prison cell.  With tears in his eyes, he tells her how much he has missed her and their young son.  Both husband and wife are clearly trying to keep their emotions in check for each others' sake.  Sheila tells Greville that, while it is a good sign she has been allowed to visit him, it may still take a year or two for the British government to be able to get Russia to release Greville.  Sheila, putting on a brave smile: "We're trying very hard."  Greville, a tear spilling down his cheek, nods.  He wants something that will give him the strength to keep on persevering through the deprivation, torture, starvation, and solitude he faces daily in the Russian prison.  "Tell me something about home.  Tell me what I have to look forward to."  He smiles at his wife through his tears as she tells him about the garden, their home, and Andrew's studies.  Greville: "How are you?"  Sheila, pushing back the desire to weep: "I'm all right.  Really.  If you can be strong enough for this..."  Greville sits up straighter, as if preparing himself to face the next few years as bravely as his wife is facing hers.  "I just want you to know that, every moment I've been here, I've done nothing but think about how I'm going to get home to you.  Really.  I will."  And, as if to convince himself as well as her, he repeats: "I will."


Greville is being trained to be a spy.  Penkovsky: "In Moscow, you must at all times follow the rules of tradecraft (the spy game)."  As Penkovsky gives his instructions, we see Greville going about his business in Moscow, following Penkovsky's advice to the letter.  "Everyone you meet, assume they are KGB.  Waiters, hotel staff, my driver, everyone.  Even if they are not actual KGB officers, they still make reports to KGB.  Every Russian is an eye of the state."  Greville climbs the stairs to his hotel, smiling at the old woman at the desk.  Her eyes follow him down the hallway.  "Every room you're in, assume it is bugged."  Dickie: "Even inside our embassy."  Penkovsky: "The KGB also uses lip readers.  You won't be able to tell who they are.  So, never discuss anything sensitive unless I do first."  Now we see Greville and Penkovsky sitting in a restaurant.  A man several tables away is staring at them intently as they talk.  Penkovsky notices the man without seeming to and begins an innocuous discussion of family life.  Penkovsky, continuing his instructions: "From now on, every moment you are in Moscow, you will be selling one thing...the idea that you are an ordinary businessman and nothing more than an ordinary businessman."  We see Penkovsky taking pictures of secret Russian plans, putting them in an envelope, and passing the envelope on to Greville.  Greville flies back to England, walks by a secret agent on the street, and passes the envelope on to him.
