ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Movie Ideas, Movie Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show thousands of movie titles and TV shows from a number of producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 4,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including all the titles that  part of the ScreenVue Vault.

All such service providers are contractually required to keep your data safe, use it only for the purposes agreed, and delete it when it is no longer required. They have agreed not share it, nor use it for their marketing purposes.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Movie Ideas, Movie Views, and Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of content: 
- *Movie Ideas*: Has the "light-bulb icon," where you would use your own movie (Digital, Stream, Blu-ray, or DVD you already have access to) with our cues and details; as this idea is not available as a View or Download.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including movie content? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include movie content, the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming movie content - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream movie content inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include movie content, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

Conor asks his dad why he moved away and left his family.  Dad, shaking his head regretfully: "We were young.  Too young.  You know, we had big dreams…"  Conor's mom had dreamed of art school, but pregnancy at a young age prevented it.  Dad makes sure to tell Conor that his mother never regretted having him, she only regretted her marriage.  Conor: "Why did she marry you, then?"  Dad, jokingly: "Because I'm handsome."  He continues, seriously: "We were in love.  I mean, I still love her.  But, you see, love isn't enough.  It doesn't carry you through."  Conor: "So, you didn't get 'happily ever after?'"  Dad: "No, but that's life, you know?  Most of us just get 'messily ever after.'"


The Tree is telling Conor a story of a parson who loved his two little daughters.  When the daughters became ill, he tried everything he could think of to make them better.  He visited doctors, he prayed, but they remained ill.  At last, out of desperation, he visited the apothecary he had previously maligned.  He begged the healer to help his daughters, promising to do anything the man would ask.  Apothecary: "You would give up everything you believed in?"  Parson: "If it would save them, I would give up everything."  Apothecary, turning his back: "Then there is nothing I can do to help you."  The Tree tells the boy that the parson's daughters died, and that the night of their death, the Tree came to teach a man a lesson.  Conor, thinking the man was the apothecary: "Good!  He deserves all the punishment he gets!"  Tree: "Indeed.  It was shortly after midnight that I tore the parson's home from its very foundations."  Conor, surprised: "Parson?  What are you talking about?  The apothecary's the evil one!"  Tree: "He was greedy and rude, but he was still a healer.  The parson?  What was he?  A man of faith without faith."  The Tree bends down to look the boy in the face: "Belief is half of all healing.  Belief in the cure.  Belief in the future that awaits.  Your belief is valuable, so you must be careful where you put it, and in whom."


After Conor summons the monster again, he hears a second tale: a rigid parson refuses to let an apothecary take medicine from a yew tree, only to beg for help when his own children fall ill. Outraged by the parson’s hypocrisy, the Monster tears apart his house—and Conor throws himself into the destruction.

Conor enters the hospital room, where his mom sits in the bed, looking sicker than ever.  She has been crying.  He sits next to her: "This is the talk, isn't it?  Everybody always wants to have a talk lately."  Mom tells Conor that her cancer treatment isn't working.  In fact, her body is deteriorating faster than doctors had expected.  Conor, agitated: "How can it not be working?  It has to."  Mom, tears in her eyes, looks sorrowfully at her son.  Conor: "What's gonna be the next treatment?"  Mom shakes her head: "I'm so sorry.  I've never been more sorry about anything in my life."  She tries to lay her hand on Conor's, but he pulls them away, refusing to look at her.  Mom, understanding he is only reacting from pain, tells Conor it is okay to be angry: "But, Con...Con, are you listening?  One day, if you look back and you feel bad for being so angry you couldn't even speak to me, you have to know that that was okay."  Conor suddenly looks up, surprised that she understands so well.  Mom, continuing: "That I knew.  'Cause I know everything you need to tell me without you having to say it out loud."  Mom, looking wistful: "I wish I had a hundred years.  A hundred years I could give to you."


Conor sees his mother standing in the graveyard and knows his recurring nightmare is about to start.  He cries out to her, warning her to leave before it is too late, but she doesn't sense the danger: "It's all right.  There's nothing to worry about."  He begs her to run, but it is too late.  The ground beneath her feet collapses.  Conor runs toward her, seeing her standing on the edge of a massive sinkhole.  Just before he reaches her, she falls.  Conor dives, grabbing her hand.  She hangs from his arm over a deep, seemingly bottomless, black pit.  Mom: "Don't let go!"  Conor: "I won't!"  But, no matter how hard he tries, no matter how much he wants to, he cannot hang on for long.  His grip on her hand begins to slip and she cries out: "Please, don't let me go!"  He is crying now, desperate to save her: "Mom!  My mom!"  Then, suddenly, all sound stops.  The wind stops blowing, the ground stops shaking, and Conor stops crying.  He looks down into the blackness.  His mom is gone.


Late one night, Conor creeps downstairs and secretly watches his grandmother replay an old video of him as a young boy, sitting beside his mother as she teaches him to draw. She lingers on the eyes, explaining that capturing them is what brings any drawing to life.

Twelve‑year‑old Conor O’Malley is struggling to hold his world together: his mother is gravely ill, he’s tormented by bullies at school, and his nights are haunted by recurring nightmares centered on the old church near his home. Then, one night at exactly seven minutes past midnight, the ancient yew tree beside the church wrenches itself to life. Towering and twisted, it strides toward Conor’s house, stopping outside his window. The creature leans close and declares, “I have come to get you, Conor O’Malley…”

As usual, Conor is sitting alone at the lunch table.  Harry approaches, deliberately pouring Conor's orange juice all over his drawing tablet.  Conor stands up, angry and breathing hard.  Harry, feigning peace, offers his hand in a shake.  Conor takes it.  While their hands are joined, Harry uses his words to cut at Conor just as his fists have always done: "Goodbye, O'Malley.  I no longer see you.  Now you're invisible to me, too."  Harry and his two cronies start to walk away.  Conor watches them go, breathing hard in anger and frustration.  (He has been bullied by these boys a long time.)  The Tree appears and tells Conor his third story: "There was once an invisible man who had grown tired of being unseen.  It was not that he was actually invisible, it was just that people had become used to not seeing him.  One day, the invisible man couldn't stand it anymore.  He kept wondering, 'If no one sees you, are you really there at all?'"  Conor: "What did the invisible man do?"  Tree: "He called for a monster."  Yelling, Conor and the Tree run toward the bullies.  Conor doesn't want to be invisible any longer.  In the next scene, Conor is sitting in the principal's office.


Conor is standing by his mother's hospital bed.  She is near death.  The tree comes, as promised, to help Conor through the end.  Conor, to the tree: "I'm scared."  Tree: "Of course you are.  It will be hard.  It will be more than hard.  But you will make it through, Conor O'Malley."  Conor turns back to his mother, asking the tree: "What do I do?"  The tree tells him to simply speak the truth.  Conor takes his mother's hand and smiles, a tear coursing down his cheek: "I don't want you to go."  Mom: "I know, my love."  He bends to hold her, crying: "I don't want you to go."  She holds her son, stroking his head.  They stay that way until Conor's mom takes her last breath.  The words of the tree echo in his ears: "It ends with the boy holding on tight to his mother.  And, by doing so, he can finally let her go."

As Conor’s mother grows weaker, he’s sent to live with his strict grandmother, whose chilly, rule‑bound household offers him no comfort. The coldness of her welcome only deepens his sense that his life is unraveling, and Conor resents the path that has brought him there.

The Tree is telling Conor a story of a handsome prince whose true love was murdered.  When the prince declared the wicked queen to be the killer, the townspeople converged on the castle to kill the queen.  The Tree intervened, saving the queen and taking her to a far off land, where she lived out her days.  Conor is angered by the end of the story: "How can you save a murderer?"  Tree: "I never said she killed the farmer's daughter.  I only said that the prince said it was so."  The Tree tells the rest of the tale.  The prince, ambitious for his kingdom, had killed the girl himself in order to turn the people against the queen.  Now Conor, robbed of his hero, is furious: "That is a terrible story, and a cheat!"  Tree: "It's a true story.  Many things that are true feel like a cheat.  Kingdoms get the princes they deserve.  Farmers' daughters die for no reason.  And, sometimes, witches merit saving."  Conor: "So, the good prince was a murderer, and the evil queen wasn't a witch after all?"  The Tree tells Conor that she was, indeed, a witch and capable of great evil.  Conor: "Then why did you save her?"  Tree: "Because what she was not was a murderer."  The Tree tells Conor that the murdering prince became a beloved king who lived happily ever after.  Conor doesn't understand the point of the story: "Who's the good guy here?"  Tree: "There is not always a good guy, Conor O'Malley.  Nor is there always a bad one.  Most people are somewhere in between."  (Caution: scene may frighten some viewers)
