ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

## How We Use Cookies

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

Jojo

Jojo and his mother are at the dinner table, having an argument.  Jojo, angrily: "I wouldn't expect you to understand.  If my father were here, he'd get it."  Rosie, defensively: "Well, he's not."  (Jojo's father is away at war.)  Jojo: "I know.  And instead, I'm stuck with you!"  Rosie, narrowing her eyes: "You want your dad, eh?"  Angry herself now, Rosie gets up from the table, puts on her husband's coat, and smears soot from the fireplace on her chin to resemble a beard.  Affecting a deep voice, she slams her hand down on the table in front of Jojo: "Don't you ever talk to your g-----n mother like that!"  Jojo jumps, fear in his eyes.  Rosie sees it and the anger leaves her face, being replaced by guilt.  She moves to stand by the fireplace and acts out a conversation between herself and her absent husband, playing both parts.  Rosie: "Paul, what happened?"  Paul-Rosie: "I yelled at the kid."  Rosie: "What?  Go apologize."  Paul-Rosie, going back to the table and kneeling before Jojo: "Sorry, kid.  Jojo, I know you miss me, but I'm out there trying to make a difference in the world.  And, while I'm gone, I need you to take care of my Rosie.  Can you do that?"  Jojo, playing along: "Yes, Dad."  Paul-Rosie, tears in her eyes: "Thanks.  She's doing what she can."  Rosie stands up and, for fun, continues playacting that her husband is home.  Still playing both roles, she begins to dance around the room, convincing Jojo to "dance with his parents."  Jojo stands on a chair, his arms around his mother's neck and they dance together as a family.  (Caution: gd-word used, d-word used)


During the collapse of Nazi Germany, a ten-year-old (Jojo) joins the junior section of the Hitler Youth. Heavily indoctrinated with Nazi ideals, he has an imaginary friend named Adolf, a buffoonish version of Adolf Hitler, who gives him advice. 

Rosie is in the hidden crawlspace with Elsa, the Jewish girl she is hiding in her home.  Rosie tells Elsa she has to be more quiet because her son, Jojo, has been hearing noises.  She tells the girl that her son is a Nazi fanatic and would easily disclose their secret.  Rosie, tears in her eyes: "I know he's in there somewhere.  The little boy who loves to play and runs to you because he's scared of thunder.  Thinks you invented chocolate cake.  In the end, that's all you have.  Hope.  That your only remaining child is not just another ghost."  Elsa, despairing: "Perhaps we're all ghosts now.  We just don't know it."  Rosie, looking at the girl with compassion: "You've lived more lifetimes than most."  Elsa, bitterly: "I haven't lived at all."  Rosie: "You're being challenged.  They say you can't live, that you won't live.  If that comes true, then they win."  Elsa, fighting back tears: "They've been winning so far."  Rosie, adamantly: "They'll never win!  That's the power you have.  As long as there's someone alive, somewhere, then they lose.  They didn't get you yesterday or today.  You make tomorrow the same!  Tomorrow must be the same."

Jojo stands before the mirror in his Hitler Youth uniform.  He is practicing the vow he will recite later in the day, at the training camp for Hitler Youth.  "Jojo Betzler.  Ten years old.  Today, you join the ranks of the Jungvolk in a very special training weekend.  It's going to be intense, but, today you become a man.  I swear to devote all my energies and my strength to the savior of our country, Adolph Hitler.  I am willing and ready to give up my life for him, so help me God."  


At the local HJ training camp Jojo's mother insists -- very aggressively! -- to the now-demoted Captain Klenzendorf that Jojo still be included, giving him small tasks like spreading propaganda leaflets.

Up until now, Jojo has looked upon war as an exciting game.  For the first time, he comes face-to-face with the realities of human beings fighting and killing each other.  War has come to his town, and Jojo staggers through the smoke-blackened streets, staring at the horrors around him.  He sees men, their bodies already scarred by previous battles, rushing in to be brutalized again.  He sees women and children given weapons they know nothing about, that they must now use to kill.  He sees his best friend, cowering in a doorway and covering his ears.  He sees his peers, ten-year-old boys, running towards death with smiles on their faces.  And he sees the dead.  Women, wives and mothers, lying with vacant gazes.  Jojo's eyes are opened.  Touching music plays in the background as we see the light dawn in the boy's eyes...war is a terrible thing.  (Caution: scene may disturb some viewers)


It is the Nazi youth training weekend and a fresh group of young boys are standing before the older training officers.  Officer: "When you stand before the enemy and have to end his life, which of you will have the stomach to do this?"  Jojo looks around as all the other kids raise their hands.  He tentatively raises his own.  Officer, obviously enjoying himself: "Good.  There's no room in Hitler's army for those that lack strength."  We want hardened warriors.  Those that are prepared to kill at will.  Can you do this?"  Jojo, following the others, nods his head.  The officer calls him out: "Can you kill?"  Jojo, pretending nonchalance: "Of course.  I love killing."  The officer hands him a cute bunny and Jojo's eyes light up as he takes it into his arms.  Officer, coldly: "Kill it."  Jojo looks startled.  The officer repeats his order, but Jojo just stands there, holding the rabbit and looking scared.  Officer #2 incites the crowd to start chanting: "Kill.  Kill.  Kill."  Jojo looks down at the helpless creature in his arms.  He looks around at his peers, who are egging him on.  Knowing he can't do it, Jojo quickly puts the rabbit on the ground and tries to shoo it away.  Officer #2 picks it up, breaks its neck, and throws it into the woods.  The other officers laugh and encourage everyone to mock Jojo for cowardice.  (Note: to avoid the disturbing killing of the rabbit, end clip at 0:11:21)


Thomasin McKenzie

Mom tells Jojo that someday he'll meet someone special (a girl, leading to marriage), which the boy can't conceive of at his young age. Mom then mischievously ties Jojo's shoestrings together, forcing him to fall. (Caution: profanity used)

Jojo, a fervent member of the Nazi Youth, has discovered that his mother has been hiding a Jewish girl in his house.  He confronts Elsa, demanding that she tell him everything about the Jewish race.  Elsa, looking at the boy in the Reich uniform: "Okay.  We're like you, but human."  Jojo, humorlessly: "Please take this seriously.  Think of this as an exposé.  I want to know all your secrets."  Jojo sits down, pen and paper in his hand: "Start telling me about your kind."  Elsa, sarcastically: "Obviously, we are demons who love money."  Jojo, seriously, writing it down: "Obviously." Elsa, joking around, tells him Jews are allergic to food (in an attempt to get him to give her something to eat).  Jojo is not amused: "Very funny."  He tells her there is not enough food for her.  Elsa: "Your mother managed to find me some bread.  She's kind.  She treats me like a person."  Jojo shakes his head adamantly: "But you're not.  Not a proper person."  Elsa: "Are you?"  Jojo, throwing down his notebook angrily and walking slowly towards her: "How dare you, Jew!  You are weak, like an eyelash.  I am born of Aryan ancestry.  My blood is the color of a pure, red rose.  And my eyes are blue, like - -"  Elsa grabs him, putting her hand over his mouth and her arms around his body.  Elsa: "Break free!  Break free, great Aryan.  There are no weak Jews.  I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants.  We were chosen by God!  You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't even grow a full mustache."  Elsa throws Jojo down on the bed: "The stronger race, huh?"

Jojo and his mother Rosie are at the dinner table arguing about the ongoing war.  Rosie does not eat her dinner as she secretly saves it for Elsa, a teenage Jewish girl she is hiding. Unaware to Rosie, Jojo knows their secret, as he meanly takes Rosie's portion of food she has saved for Elsa. (Caution: GD-word is used)
