ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

## How We Use Cookies

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

James and his family are getting ready to eat dinner.  While Mary places dishes on the table, she and her husband discuss whether or not he should accept his latest case.  Back and forth, they argue their respective points.  Mary, after a particularly pointed remark from her husband: "Listen to yourself.  You're defending him already!  You said you were just thinking about taking it."  James: "I am just thinking about it...just very hard."  Just then, a young law clerk arrives carrying a load of books.  When Mary asks Doug why he's brought the books, Doug unknowingly spills the beans: "We're taking it (the case).  It's exciting, isn't it?"  While Mary glares at James, James stares unblinkingly at his subordinate, willing the young man to disappear into a hole.  Sensing the tension, Doug's smile fades.  With no way to extricate himself from the doghouse, James extends his hands to either side of the table, bowing his head in prayer.  Eyes closed, James prays, waving his hand in front of his wife, trying to get her to take it.  Grudgingly, just as the prayer is ending, Mary slaps his hand briefly with her own before pulling it back and continuing to sulk.

Agent Hoffman has brought James to a cafe in order to question him regarding his client.  Claiming it is James's patriotic duty to spill the beans, Hoffman wants to hear anything that his client has shared.  James is indignant, knowing that the CIA agent is asking him to break the law.  Hoffman, urging James to comply: "Don't go boy-scout on me.  We don't have a rule book here."  James: "What makes us both Americans?  Just one thing.  The rule book.  We call it the Constitution and we agree to the rules.  And that's what makes us Americans."  (Caution: b-word used)

The children in Roger's class are watching a public-service video on the atomic bomb.  Real footage of exploding bombs shows forests destroyed, homes blown away, and towns obliterated.  Little girls in braids stare wide-eyed at the screen, some with silent tears rolling down their cheeks.  A pleasant-voiced narrator tells his audience to "duck and cover" to be safe.  The video continues, with Roger listening attentively.  Later, James finds his son holed-up in the bathroom.  The tub is filled with water and Roger is making maps and diagrams at a small table.  James: "What's going on in here?"  Roger begins to outline his detailed plans in case of an atomic attack.  James: "Those are good ideas.  But, Roger, I don't see this as being something you ever have to worry about."  Roger isn't comforted and continues with his plans.

James is riding the train to court.  All around him, people are reading newspapers, and the story appears to be the same.  A photo of James accompanies the articles, detailing the case of the Russian spy prosecuted by the American government.  James, as the defense lawyer for the accused, has become almost as notorious as his client.  A woman stares at a photo in her newspaper, recognizing James.  James, lost in thought, suddenly notices that she is glaring at him.  Her piercing stare alerts him to his other fellow passengers, and he quickly sees that she is not alone in her judgment.  Everywhere he turns, faces are coldly assessing him.  And James finds that he is the one who has been found guilty.

With his client charged with a capital crime, James paces the visiting room, worried about the outcome.  When Rudolf arrives, James quickly tries to reassure him: "The death sentence is not a foregone conclusion.  Don't worry."  Rudolf, calmly: "I'm not afraid to die, Mr. Donovan.  Although...it wouldn't be my first choice."  Rudolf sits down and begins smoking a cigarette, watching as James stands with clenched fists, staring into space.  Rudolf, meditatively: "Standing there like that, you remind me of a man that used to come to our house when I was young.  My father used to say, 'Watch this man.'  So I did.  Every time he came.  And never once did he do anything remarkable."  James, offended: "And I remind you of him?"  Rudolf then tells of the time border guards came to their house and began beating this man.  Rudolf: "And I watched this man.  Every time they hit him, he stood back up again.  So, they hit him harder.  Still, he got back to his feet.  I think, because of this, they stopped the beating and let him live."  Rudolf speaks a word of his native language, explaining that the guards had used this term to describe the man.  Rudolf, searching for a way to translate the term: "It sort of means...standing man.  Standing man."

Pilot Powers is on a secret mission, flying 70,000 feet over Communist Russia in order to take aerial photographs.  As the young man manipulates the camera controls, a bomb suddenly explodes nearby.  Several others quickly follow, striking the plane and sending it into a nosedive.  The plane plummets at a tremendous rate.  While the cockpit shudders around him, Powers glances at a photo of his girl, his eyes wide with terror.  Helplessly, he tries to maneuver the steering wheel, but to no avail.  Knowing he must not let the plane fall into enemy hands, Powers begins procedure to destroy it.  However, before he can flick the switch, the glass around him shatters and he is sucked from the plane.  Held to the aircraft by a tether, Powers frantically tries to climb back into the cockpit while the plane spins and falls.  Clutching the top of the plane, Powers slowly stretches a finger toward the "Destruct" button.  Just as he is about to hit it, his tether breaks and he is torn away from the plane completely.  Freefalling now, Powers pulls the cord to his parachute.  As he floats toward the ground, pieces of the plane begin to drop past him.  Looking up, Powers sees the bulk of the flaming plane directly over his head.  Although it looks as though it is going to crush him, the plane narrowly bypasses the pilot.  Powers watches it fall toward the ground, panting heavily.

James, just released from an East German prison, is sleeping on the train ride back to West Germany.  Waking suddenly, he looks out of the window just as the train is about to cross over the newly-erected Berlin Wall.  What he sees makes him lean forward to get a better view.  Four would-be defectors are sneaking toward the wall in an attempt to escape their Communist oppressors.  Soon, the other train passengers have joined James at the window and are anxiously watching to see what will happen.  Just as they are mounting the wall, the defectors are spotted.  The guards fire their weapons, shooting all four, and their bodies fall to the ground.  Struck by what he has just witnessed, James collapses into his seat.

The U.S. and Russian governments are in the middle of a prisoner exchange.  James escorts Rudolf across to the opposite side of the bridge, where he will be traded for Powers, the American hostage.  James, to his friend: "What do you think will happen when you get home?"  Rudolf, is his usual calm, deliberate way: "I think...I'll have a vodka."  James laughs, but his concern shows: "But, Rudolf, is there not the possibility - -"  Rudolf finishes his thought: "That my people are going to shoot me?"  James: "Yes."  Rudolf, his face placid and unconcerned, is silent.  James: "You're not worried?"  Rudolf: "Would it help?"
