ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement!

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

Scrooge introduces Marley as his dead business partner.  Jacob, regretfully: "Business, business.  Mankind was my business.  Charity, mercy, forbearance and benevolence were all my business.  And yet I practiced none of them!"  Charles invites Marley to enter the study, but is shocked when he sees what an effort it is for the ghost to move.  Not only is he bound by chains, but he carries a great weight around with him everywhere.  Finally, Marley has accomplished the three steps necessary to move into the room.  He sits down on his weight, panting from exhaustion.  Charles, curious about the man's predicament: "You are fettered.  Why?"  Marley: "I wear the chain I forged in life.  I made it, link by link.  Yard by yard.  And, of my own free will, I girded it about me."  Marley sighs in despair.  He looks pointedly at Charles: "Do you know the weight and length of the chain you bear yourself?"  Charles is surprised.  He considers himself to be a good man.  He gestures at the wicked Scrooge standing in the corner of the room: "You mean him, surely?"  Marley doesn't take his eyes of Charles's face: "You, Charley."  Charles's smile fades.


Charles is in the office of his publishers, pitching his idea for his latest novel.  He describes to them the miserly Scrooge, who meets three spirits on Christmas Eve that change his life forever.  Mr. Chapman is less than enthusiastic about the premise of the book: "Why Christmas?"  Charles, surprised: "Why not?"  Mr. Chapman: "Does anybody really celebrate it anymore?  Apart from our clerk, who never misses an opportunity to take a day off...with pay."  Chapman's partner adds his disparaging thoughts of Christmas: "More or less an opportunity for picking a man's pocket every 25th of December."  Mr. Chapman: "Not much of a market for Christmas books."  But Charles doesn't share their low view of Christmas: "Christmas is, or ought to be, the one time of year when men and women open their shut-up hearts and think of the people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave and not another race of creatures altogether."


The Ghost of Christmas Present shows Scrooge a vision of the Cratchit family seated around their small dining table.  The food is meagre and the candles few.  But the family is clearly happy and thankful for their sparse Christmas feast.  The ghost chastises Scrooge for his miserly ways: "Observe this family.  They don't have much, but they're happy, grateful, contented with their lot.  Whereas you are miserable and content with nothing."


Charles has just finished giving a speech to benefit a children's orphanage when he is approached by a wealthy couple.  The woman quickly congratulates him, telling him how much she enjoys his books.  The man, however, is open about his distaste for Charles's subject matter.  He doesn't understand why Charles would write about the low people in society: "Those people don't belong in books."  Charles, exasperated: "Those people?  You mean the poor?"  The aristocrat then begins boasting about how he is a self-made man, who never had any help from anyone in life.  He ignores his wife when she reminds him that her father gave them "a very small cotton mill" when they were married.  Charles: "And, what do you suggest we do with 'those people?'"  The man suggests the workhouse.  Charles, who knows the terrible existence of those condemned to a workhouse: "Do you know how many people would rather die than go there?"  Man, coldly: "Then they'd better do it (die) and reduce the surplus population."


Charles is reading the last chapter of his new book to Tara, the house maid.  When he reads of the death of Tiny Tim, Tara stands up, tearfully protesting the ending: "Scrooge must save him!"  Charles doesn't think it is a realistic idea: "He wouldn't.  He's too selfish."  Tara, emotionally: "He can change!  There's good in him somewhere.  I know it!"  Charles sees his mental image of Scrooge in the room with them and even the old man agrees with him: "People don't change."  Charles: "He's been this way for a long time.  I'm not sure he can change."  Tara, passionately: "Of course he can!  He's not a monster!  He wouldn't let Tiny Tim die, Mr. Dickens.  He has a heart, doesn't he?  It would be too wicked...even for him."  Charles contemplates his vision of Scrooge, scanning the evil-looking visage for any sign of human compassion.  But Tara's words weigh with him and he begins to consider that maybe, just maybe, Scrooge could possibly change.


Charles has returned to the factory where he spent his youth slaving under hard masters.  He remembers what it felt like to work in the dark and dingy atmosphere, day after day, for barely enough money to feed himself.  He recalls his early days in the factory, when the other children would taunt him for being the son of an imprisoned gentleman.  Tears fill Charles's eyes as the still-fresh memories flood him.  Memories of pain and heartache and abandonment.  Memories of rejection and hunger.  And, just when his heart is at its lowest, Scrooge appears.  Scrooge, smiling vilely: "So this is your miserable secret.  The famous author, the inimitable Charles Dickens, was once a scabby little factory boy.  A common bit of riffraff, a squalid wretch.  No use to anyone!  A nothing, a nobody, a debtor's son."  Scrooge laughs as he dredges up the worst times of Charles's life.  His father abandoned him, so he must be worthless.  Scrooge uses Charles's pain to fuel his despair, pushing and taunting him until he is nearly hopeless.  Charles: "Who are you?"  Scrooge: "You know me, Charley.  I'm hunger.  I'm cold.  I'm darkness.  I'm the shadow on your thoughts, the crack in your heart, and the stain upon your soul.  And I will never, ever leave you."  Scrooge tells Charles he will never change, that he will always be the same worthless, unwanted boy: "Useless, just like your father."  Suddenly, light dawns in Charles's eyes.  He recognizes the lies for what they are: "No.  No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.  My father taught me that."
