ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

## How We Use Cookies

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

Watching her husband consume his usual Friday night fifth of gin, Rose warns him he'll drink himself to death someday.  Troy scoffs: "Death ain't nothin'.  I done seen him.  I done wrestle with him.  You can't tell me nothin' about Death."  Troy brags to his friend, Bono, that he could hit a homerun off Death's fast pitch.  Rose shakes her head: "I don't know why you wanna get on talkin' about death."  Troy: "Ain't nothin' wrong with talkin' about death.  That's a part of life!  Everybody's gonna die."  Rose: "But you ain't gotta talk about it!  I don't like talkin' about it."  Troy proceeds to tell Bono about his near-death experience.  Years earlier, during a bout with deadly pneumonia, Troy claims to have come face-to-face with Death himself.  He paints a vivid word picture, describing Death as a robed being, complete with sickle in hand.  He tells of the feeling of chill that came over him when Death made his presence known.  But then Troy fights back: "What you want, Mister Death?  I looked him dead in the eye.  I wasn't afraid or nothin'.  I was ready to tangle."  Troy tells Bono that he fought that sickle out of Death's hand and wrestled him for three days and nights, finally winning.  (Caution: h-word used twice)

Rose tells her husband that Pearl just won a dollar in the lottery for the second time.  Troy can't understand why Rose would bother with gambling.  Rose: "Oh, it's something to do."  Troy: "You ain't doin' nothin' but throwin' your money away."  Rose: "Troy, you know I don't play foolishly.  I just play a nickel here and a nickel there."  Troy: "That's two nickels you done throwed away."  Rose, laughing: "Nah, I hit sometimes.  That makes up for it.  Always comes in handy when I do hit.  I don't hear you complaining then."  Troy: "I ain't complaining now.  I just say it's foolish, tryin' to guess out of 600 ways which way the number gonna come."

While Cory and his dad work together building a fence, the boy asks Troy why he doesn't buy a TV.  Cory, excited: "They got lots of things on TV, baseball and everything."  Troy, unimpressed: "Yeah, how much this TV cost?"  When his son states a "sale" price of $200, Troy laughs.  He directs his son to look at the roof of their house, telling him that it needs fixing.  Describing the damage a leaky roof could do, Troy tells Cory it will cost $264 to fix it.  Troy: "While you be thinkin' about a TV, I gotta be thinkin' about the roof or whatever else go wrong around here."  He looks intently at his teenage son: "Now, if you had $200, what would you do?  Fix the roof, or buy a TV?"  Cory, thinking for all of one second: "I'd buy a TV.  And when the roof started to leak, I'd fix it."  Troy laughs at his son's foolishness: "Where you gonna get your money from?  You done spend it on a TV!"  Cory, with the boundless optimism of youth, is convinced his father has the money necessary for the gadget.  But even if he doesn't, Cory says he could borrow the money.  Troy scoffs: "I ain't owing nobody nothin' if I can help it!"  He warns his son of the dangers of borrowing money you might not be able to pay back.  Returning to the fence, Troy promises his son that if he can earn $100 himself, he will give him the other half needed for the purchase.

After Troy refuses to allow Cory to go to college on a football scholarship, Cory asks his father why he's never liked him.  Troy: "What law is there say I got to like you?"  Cory: "None."  Troy: "All right, then.  Don't you eat every day?"  Cory: "Yeah."  Troy: "N----r, as long as you in my house, you put a 'sir' on the end of it when you talk to me."  Cory: "Yes, sir."  Troy: "You eat every day?"  Cory: "Yes, sir."  Troy: "Got a roof over your head?"  Cory: "Yes, sir."  Troy: "Got clothes on your back?"  Cory: "Yes, sir."  Troy: "Why you think that is?"  Cory: "'Cause you like me?"  Troy, disgusted: "Like you?  I go out of here every morning.  I bust my butt putting up with them crackers every day 'cause I like you?  You about the biggest fool I ever saw.  It's my job.  It's my responsibility.  A man is supposed to take care of his family!  It's my duty to take care of you.  I ain't got to like you.  Now, I done give you everything I got to give you.  I give you your life!"  (Caution: n-word used, h-word used)

Rose is putting lunch together when Troy stops her, saying quietly: "Rose, I got somethin' to tell you.  Now, I don't know how to tell you this.  And I can't explain it none.  It just sort of grows on you.  It started off like a little bush, next thing you know it's a whole forest."  Swallowing hard, Troy tells his wife that he's going to be a father.  Rose's eyes grow wide in shock and dismay.  She whispers: "Troy, you ain't tellin' me this.  You're gonna be what?  You're tellin' your wife this?"  Rose, quietly: "Why, Troy?  Why?  It don't make no sense at your age."  Troy shakes his head: "Age ain't got nothin' to do with it, Rose."  Rose: "I done tried to be everything a wife should be.  Everything a wife could be."  Rose collapses, sobbing.  Troy tries to help her up, but she moves away: "And you know I never wanted no half-nothing in my family!  My whole family is half.  Everybody got different fathers and mothers and my two sisters and my brothers.  You could hardly tell who's who.  Could never sit down and talk about Papa and Mama.  It was always your papa, your mama, my papa, my mama.  And I ain't never wanted that for none of my children!"

Lyons is telling Cory that he's almost finished with his three-year prison sentence: "They got me down at the workhouse.  It ain't so bad.  You learn to deal with it like anything else.  'You gotta take the crookeds with the straights,' that's what Papa used to say.  He used to say that when he struck out.  I seen him strike out three times in a row, and the next time up, he hit the ball over the grandstand.  Then, after the game, he had 200 people standing around, waiting to shake his hand.  You gotta take the crookeds with the straights."
