ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

He tries to wake him up, but Charles wants to stay in bed: "What do you want now?"  Brian: "Don't talk to me like that."  Brian promises Charles a trip to the village if he gets up.  Charles: "I'll walk in and meet you there."  Brian, firmly: "You will not walk in and meet me there.  You'll come with me in the truck or you won't go at all."  Charles: "Whatever."  Brian: "Don't say 'whatever.'"  Charles: "What..."  He looks at Brian and stops.  As soon as Brian walks out of the room, he finishes: "Ever."  Brian waits outside for Charles to get dressed.  He is stunned when the robot exits the house wearing a hideous ensemble fashioned out of his drapes.  Brian: "What are you doing?  Why are you wearing that?"  Charles: "I feel pretty cool."  Brian: "Not in my old curtains, you don't!  Put something else on."  Charles goes back into the house, muttering: "Spoilsport."  He returns wearing his normal clothes and they proceed to the vehicle.  Charles: "I want to sit in the front, Brian."  Brian: "No, you're not sitting in the front.  You're sitting in the back.  You're not old enough."  Charles, determinedly: "I want to go in the front, Brian."  Brian, slowly and firmly: "You're not old enough to go in the front.  I want you in the back."  Charles: "Front."  Brian: "Not front."  Charles: "I will sit in the front, Brian."  Brian: "You will not sit in the front.  You'll sit in the back."  Charles: "Maybe I could drive and you could walk, Brian."  Brian: "You have got a very, very cheeky brain, and I don't like it.  I don't know what's got into you.  It's the same blue eye but a different attitude."  Charles persists in claiming the front seat.  Brian, exasperated: "Stop saying 'front.'"  Charles: "Front, front, front, front, front..."  A few moments later, we see a beaten Brian driving to town, Charles in the front seat beside him.

Brian and Hazel rescue Charles from a mob who throws him into a bonfire.


Brian is amazed to find that the robot he built is now showing signs of independent intelligence.  Charles, sentient for less than a day, is eager to learn about life.  Brian takes Charles by the hand and leads him outside.  Charles, amazed at his view of the outdoors: "Everything is lovely."  Brian: "It's not all lovely.  It's a dangerous world sometimes."  Charles, repeating the passage he read in the dictionary the night before: "Dangerous:  able or likely to cause harm or injury.  Perilous."  Charles, eagerly: "Can we go swimming, Brian?"  Brian: "No.  One thing at a time, okay?"  Charles looks out over the yard, seeing a tree in the field beyond: "Does it all stop at the tree?"  Brian, confused: "Beg your pardon?"  Charles: "How far does the 'outside' go?"  Brian: "What are you on about?"  Charles: "Does the outside stop at the tree?"  Brian, suddenly understanding: "No. It goes way beyond the tree.  There's a big old world out there that you don't know about.  A big, perilous world."  Suddenly several birds take flight from the tree, flapping their wings loudly.  Charles is startled, thinking perilous thoughts: "Oh, my gosh.  What was that?  Perilous.  So very perilous."  Brian calms him: "It's all right.  Just crows."  Charles is curious about the birds and continues to ask Brian questions, but Brian says it's time to go inside.  Charles is reluctant, wanting to stay and learn about the world, but Brian bribes him with the promise of boiled cabbages and the two return to the house.

Brian is full of ideas of things he can build.  Whatever he thinks of, he tries to put together, without stopping to worry whether or not it is possible.  He wheels his latest creation out of his garage.  It is a large cuckoo clock attached to a bicycle, with wings and a motor.  Brian: "It's not your traditional cuckoo clock.  I thought I'd do something a bit different.  It's a flying cuckoo clock.  So, whenever anyone in the village wants to know the time, they can look up in the air and I'll be there."  He pretends to be a villager: "What time is it?"  He looks up at the sky: "There's Brian.  Half 2:00."  Brian turns on the motor attached to the back of the bike.  He laughs proudly when it starts after only a few tries.  It is hard to describe the ramshackle creation.  In addition to the abovementioned parts, it also has pieces of a shopping cart, a fan, a deflated soccer ball, and a road cone.  The motor belches out a choking stream of smoke.  But, in Brian's mind, it is a success: "You don't try things, you don't succeed, do you?  You just got to keep trying."  He grins broadly.  As Brian wheels his clock onto the dirt path, he explains his plan: "I'm gonna head off down the lane, and by the time I reach the end, I should be hitting 90 miles an hour, and then I take off into the blue sky..."  Brian mounts his bike and slowly pedals down the lane.  Flash forward a minute and Brian's bike-clock is crashed on the side of the path, in flames.  Later, a blackened Brian addresses the camera: "They don't always work, but I tend to learn from each thing that I build.  On to the next one!"  Brian grins. 


Brian has decided to make whatever comes into his head.  He shows us around his "infamous inventions pantry," introducing us to some of his creations.  He holds up a purse with pine cones glued all over it: "Pine cone bag.  It's basically just a plain bag with pine cones glued onto it."  Even the handle is studded with the spiky cones.  Next, he holds up a tangle of ping pong balls held together with springs: "Ping-pong, picky-pong, ping-pong pie.  This is basically a puzzle I came up with and tried to sell to Selfridges."  Brian dons a leather belt filled with small pouches: "It's literally just a belt that you can put eggs in.  It's an egg belt."  Brian demonstrates the belt, showing how he can now carry a row of eggs around his middle whenever he wants to.  Finally, Brian puts on a helmet resembling an antique scuba diver's headgear.  The helmet has a hose attached and a mechanism to suck all of the air out of the helmet with a simple push of the button.  Brian pushes the button and a loud whirring sound is heard.  As all of the breathable air is sucked out of his helmet, Brian begins to look uncomfortable.  He makes some jerking movements with his arm.  Finally, about to lose consciousness, Brian tears the helmet off his head.


Brian begins spending time playing with Charles and showing him around his property. The childlike Charles becomes more curious and eager to explore more of the world.

While watching the "telly," Charles sees a documentary on Honolulu, Hawaii and immediately begs to go - today!  While standing up and dancing, "Let's go there, Brian! It's hotter than here and it looks wonderful. I want to go, horses and helicopters, please!"

The next day, after Brian refuses to sell Charles to Eddie, Brian comes home from work to find his front door pulled off its hinges and Charles having disappeared. He and Hazel find Charles at Eddie’s, but Eddie claims that Charles came on his own. Brian and Hazel learn that Eddie intends to burn Charles in a bonfire later that night. 


Brian has built his dream invention…a robot.  He kneels beside it, hoping that when he flicks the switch to turn it on, the machine will come to life.  He breathes deeply, whispering: "Activate."  He flicks the switch on the robot's neck.  A slight buzzing sound trembles and fades.  The robot is still lifeless.  He tries again.  This time, the buzzing is even fainter and the robot doesn't move.  Whispering to himself: "Come on, please.  Please, please, please."  He again flicks the switch.  This time, there is no sound and no movement.  He sighs in disappointment.  Later, he is playing darts with himself: "Gave it a good go, didn't I?  Unfortunately, didn't work out.  That's life, innit?  One door closes, another door opens.  That's what I always say."  Brian grins, full of optimism.  He continues expounding on his philosophy of life's opportunities: "And then that door closes.  And another door opens.  And that door closes and another door opens.  And that...that door will probably close at some point, another one will hopefully open.  And then, I imagine, at some point along the line, that door will close, and hopefully, fingers crossed...basically, what I'm trying to say is doors open and close and there's no getting away from it."  He laughs.


Brian attempts to create an artificially-intelligent robot, though he is unable to activate it. That night, during a thunderstorm, Brian discovers his activated robot fearfully wandering outside of his workshop. Brian carefully brings it into his house, calming it down by whistling.

One day, Eddie, a local bully, along with his two spoiled teenage daughters, come across Charles and approach Brian to purchase him, but Brian refuses, leading to Eddie shoving Brian to the ground. 

Eddie stalks up to Brian, furious that Brian has taken back the robot that Eddie stole from him.  Eddie orders Brian to return Charles (the robot) so he can throw it on the village bonfire.  Quietly, the mild Brian refuses.  Eddie gets louder and more forceful.  Brian stands his ground, despite Eddie poking him in the face and making threats.  Eddie is surprised, not used to anyone standing up to him.  The villagers watch as Brian stands silently in front of the angry bully.  Eddie shoves Brian backwards.  The villagers can't keep silent anymore: "We've all had enough of you, Eddie."  Eddie shoves Brian again.  Brian, quietly: "Don't shove me, Eddie, please."  Eddie, shoving again: "What was that?"  The villagers ask Eddie to leave Brian alone, but he won't.  But Brian isn't backing down either.  He walks up to Eddie and quietly says: "No."  Eddie shoves him even harder.  And so, Brian prepares to defend himself.  He takes off his coat.  (Earlier, Hazel had advised Brian that the way to beat Eddie was to use his gift, his brain.)  Eddie lifts his fists, preparing to fight.  Brian stands still, not wanting to fight, but only to defend himself.  Eddie lunges.  A metal plate on a retractable metal arm suddenly lurches out of Brian's chest, throwing Eddie to the ground.  Eddie groans.  Pam points at the contraption: "What's that?"  Hazel, proudly: "It's Brian's Super Shover."  Brian: "It's over, Eddie."  Eddie starts to climb into his car to leave, but a cabbage suddenly hits him in the head.  Behind Brian, Charles is standing holding Brian's other invention, the cabbage gun.  Cabbages start to fly at Eddie and his gang until they drive away.  The village thanks Brian for standing up to Eddie.
