ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

She sings a song that describes her life as she sees it: ♪ "Lost touch with my soul.  I had nowhere to run.  I had nowhere to go.  Lost sight of my dream.  Thought it would be the end of me.  I thought I'd never make it through.  I had no one to hold on to.  I thought I might break.  I didn't know my own strength." ♪ She sings of how her tumble didn't cause her to crumble.  ♪ "I was not built to break.  I didn't know my own strength." ♪ The audience cheers as Whitney continues: ♪ "Found hope in my heart.  I found a light to light my way out of dark.  Found all that I needed, here inside of me." ♪ Whitney continues, singing of how the times of darkness in her life almost overwhelmed her.  But she got through it by the strength she found within herself.


Clive has invited Whitney to his home to have a heart-to-heart discussion about her addiction.  Clive, putting a caring hand on Whitney's shoulder: "Dear Whitney, the time has come for me to tell you that you need rehab."  Whitney looks hurt and stunned as Clive tells her that she isn't going to win this battle if she does it on her own: "You're underestimating the lethal power of drugs."  Whitney wipes tears from her eyes and responds defensively.  But Clive refuses to give up: "You can't do it yourself.  You can't."  Whitney, her chin in the air: "I'm fine.  Really, I am.  You know, I got it under control."  Clive continues to tell Whitney how her drug use is affecting her life as well as her music.  Clive: "I can't leave it this way.  This is a matter of life and death.  You need to let me help you."  Whitney, angrily: "Meddling."  Clive, refusing to back down: "Deal with it."


Whitney is being interviewed live on the radio when the host asks her a jarring question: "It's a criticism I increasingly hear from callers." Whitney: "That I'm not black enough?"  DJ: "That your music isn't black enough.  Aren't you selling out?"  Whitney: "You gotta lotta nerve asking me that."  DJ: "That's what my mother tells me.  It's a valid question.  A common criticism of you and your music, that you're a sellout, that you're not a real black artist."  Whitney looks furious and the DJ thinks she's going to walk out on the interview.  But Whitney stays to respond: "If I'm not a black artist, then what am I?  Look, I don't know how to sing black and I don't know how to sing white either.  I know how to sing.  Music is not a color to me.  It has no boundaries."  Whitney, getting heated: "It makes me angry, actually.  It's hateful and uninformed.  Why I gotta be what someone wants me to be anyway?  Sing what I want to sing.  Be how I want to be.  Reach as big an audience as I can.  Isn't that what art's meant to do?"  (Caution: a-word spoken)


Whitney is brimming with excitement after signing a deal with a famous record producer.  Grinning, she tells her parents all about the meeting: "Mommy, he called me vocally ambitious!"  Behind Whitney's back, John glares at his wife: "You let her come out looking like this?  She ain't got a dress?  She needs to start wearing a dress."  Whitney's smile fades and she looks crestfallen.  Cissy: "I told her to dress up."  Whitney, dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt, looks at her mother in surprise: "What?  These are my nice jeans."  Cissy and John, together: "Nice jeans?"  But Whitney doesn't want to have to pretend to be something she's not: "Yeah, well, it's just me."  John, speaking of her soon-to-be-fans: "Yeah, well, they don't wanna see 'just you.'"  He tells her that being herself isn't enough.  He turns to Cissy: "And you need to take her wig shopping.  If she's gonna go all the way, hair as short as mine is not gonna get it done."  Whitney bites her lip, hurt.  John continues: "You're a princess.  With that voice and those looks, you could be America's princess.  Start looking like one."  


When Whitney tells Clive her father wants her to go on a world tour, Clive is immediately against it.  "Whitney, no.  Your voice."  Whitney, however, is insistent.  She misses singing.  Whitney, quoting from the Bible to lend her argument weight: "'Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.'  Gospel of Matthew, chapter five."  Clive, retorting with his own maxim: "Don't press your luck or you might fall and break your tuchus.  That's the gospel of Clive, chapter one."  Whitney: "Clive, you're Jewish."  Clive: "So was Jesus.  At least on his mother's side."

Seeing his framed diploma on the wall, Whitney asks Clive: "You went to Harvard?"  Clive nods: "Law."  Whitney: "What was that like?"  Clive: "Stressful.  Actually, anxiety attacks.  But, you know, you work through it.  I worked through it."  Whitney: "How?"  Clive: "Exercises.  Breathing exercises."  He demonstrates taking a deep breath in and letting it slowly out.  Whitney: "I do that, too."  Clive: "I did it, of course, away from everyone.  You have to remember that in those days, and this was a long time ago, in those days, you couldn't admit that there was ever anything wrong with you."  Whitney, softly: "Can you now?"
