ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement!

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

Soon, she breaks down completely and walks off the stage.  James follows her to where she is sitting in the back pew.  Aretha is embarrassed that she broke down during the worship: "I can't make a fool out of myself.  There's gonna be a film crew here.  And if I break down like I did right now, they gonna think I lost my mind."  James: "Ree, the Spirit is the Spirit.  It moves when it moves.  What you want us to do?  Behave like Episcopalians?" Ree tells James that she worries that she will never be free from her demons.  James, wiping her tears, tells her that her real problem is the pain she has been running from her entire life.  James: "But you gotta let it go, Ree.  Give it to God.  It wasn't your fault and He knows that.  I don't know about tomorrow or the concert or the album or the documentary.  You're in church right now.  You're safe.  So, Ree, let's have church."


Ree sits in her apartment, empty vodka bottles on the counter and hair disheveled.  She sits on the side of her bed, remembering back to a time in her childhood when she would sit in the very same position.  Ten-year-old Ree would stare in dread at the doorknob, hoping it wouldn't turn and admit her abuser.  She remembers Mama Franklin asking her why she was so upset: "Ree Ree.  You wanna tell me what's wrong?"  Ree just shook her head: "I can't."  And she never told anyone what was being done to her.  Next, we see Ree standing in the kitchen getting a drink.  The little girl turns sideways and it can be clearly seen that she is very pregnant.  She looks soberly at the camera, a small girl carrying a great weight.  And we see again Ree, grown up but still carrying a great burden, scarred by the abuse she suffered as a child.


When Aretha tells Jerry that she wants to record a gospel album, he is less than enthusiastic: "An all-gospel record has a very limited audience."  Aretha: "I don't care."  Jerry reminds her that her driving goal has always been to make hits, implying a gospel album would flop.  Aretha, determined: "I'm making this album, Jerry.  All I wanna do is drink now, Jerry."  Jerry: "Well, let me get you into a program!"  Aretha: "I'm in a program, but I need the church!  I need the Spirit.  It has always gotten me through, and it will get me through again."  Jerry starts stuttering, still reluctant to agree to a project he sees as doomed.  Aretha: "This album is not for me or you or anybody else.  This album is for God.  And you can't jive God, Jerry, so stop trying."

Aretha's alcoholism has wrecked her life and brought her to rock bottom.  She sits alone, desperately drinking, tears of hopelessness flowing down her cheeks.  She is unkempt and surrounded by empty bottles.  Suddenly, she puts down her drink and kneels.  She folds her hands, closes her eyes and begs: "Oh, please.  Please."  But she stops praying, perhaps feeling too burdened by the weight of her sin to continue.  She picks up the bottle and again starts to drink.  Suddenly, she sees her mother seated at the piano and smiling sadly at her.  (Aretha's mother died when she was just a girl.)  Her mother walks over and wipes away Aretha's tears, kneeling down next to her daughter.  She takes away the bottle and puts her arms around Aretha.  Holding her, she begins to sing "Amazing Grace."  As she sings the words of God's healing forgiveness, Aretha begins to cry.  Barbara takes Aretha's chin in her hand and looks into her eyes: ♪ "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.  I once was lost but now I'm found.  Was blind, but now I see." ♪ Aretha begins again to pray.


It is Saturday and Mama Franklin is doing the girls' hair for church the next day.  When it is Ree's turn, the young girl refuses to have her hair done.  Thinking she's just being stubborn, Mama Franklin at first threatens the girl with a spanking.  But when Ree tells her she would rather take the spanking than get her hair done, Mama Franklin knows something is really wrong.  Sending Ree's sisters out of the room, Mama Franklin stands in front of Ree: "You wanna tell me what's wrong?"  Ree shakes her head.  Mama asks again, but Ree is silent.  Concerned, Mama takes the girl's hands in her own: "I know you don't wanna tell me, but you can always tell the Lord, Ree.  He loves you no matter what."  She looks at the little girl and sighs, wishing she could help carry her burden.

It is Sunday service and young Aretha stands at the pulpit to sing.  In an amazingly soulful voice for one so young, Aretha sings: "There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins."  As she sings the next line, worshippers stand to cheer and clap, praising God for His salvation: "And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains."  Suddenly it is no longer little Aretha singing.  Years have passed by, and in the same church, singing the same song, is grown up Aretha: "Lose all their guilty stains.  Lose all their guilty stains.  And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.  Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!"  The congregations joins her with hands lifted high in gratitude.
