ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement!

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

Abuela understands: "When my mama came from Cuba, she felt like one tiny grain of sand from the beaches we left behind."  Nina: "What did she do?"  Abuela: "She bought a winter coat and a pair of velvet gloves.  Her hands were cracked from the cleaning fluids, but the gloves hid that.  We had to assert our dignity in small ways.  That's why these napkins are beautiful."  Abuela shows Nina a stack of beautiful, hand-embroidered napkins, made by her mother, before continuing: "That's why my mother's gloves were beautiful.  Little details that tell the world we are not invisible."


New York is suffering under a record-breaking heat wave and the citizens of the Heights have lost all power.  Usnavi has encouraged the discouraged people to celebrate instead of sulking, but Sonny doesn't think they have any reason to celebrate.  He reminds everyone of their troubles: ♪ "We closed the bodega, the neighborhood is gone.  They selling the dispatch and they closin' the salon and they'll never turn the lights back on." ♪ Vanessa agrees and she stands to sing with Sonny: ♪ "We are powerless.  We are powerless." ♪ Sonny: ♪ "And y'all keep dancin' and singin' and celebratin' and it's gettin' late and this place disintegrating." ♪ Sonny and Vanessa:  ♪ "We are powerless.  We are powerless." ♪ Usnavi: ♪ "All right, so we're powerless.  There's nothing going on here that we can't handle!" ♪ He tells Sonny that their neighborhood might be falling apart, but it matters how they handle their trial: ♪ "How do you want to face it?  Do you wanna waste it when the end is so close you can taste it?  Y'all could cry with your head in the sand.  I'mma fly this flag that I got in my hand." ♪ Usnavi leads the neighborhood in facing their storm with pride, with courage.  They raise the flags of their native countries and return to singing joyfully.  And, at the end of their song, the power comes back on.

The inhabitants of the Heights are gathered at the community pool on a hot day.  The news has spread that a local mini-mart has sold a winning lottery ticket worth $96,000.  Many in the community purchased a ticket and, as they wait for the winning numbers to be revealed, they dream of how the money would change their lives.  Benny, singing: ♪ "For real, though, imagine how it would feel goin' real slow down the highway of life with no regrets and no breaking your neck for respect or a paycheck." ♪ The camera focuses in on a number of middle-aged poor, who hold their lottery tickets and look up at the sky, almost as if in prayer, chanting: "$96,000."  Now the entire pool is involved in a song and dance number as everyone imagines life with money: ♪ "We could pay off the debts we owe.  We could tell everyone we know.  I could get on a plane and go.  We'd be swimmin' in dough, yo.  96,000.  96,000.  96,000." ♪ Someone gets the news of the numbers and spray paints them on towels.  The towels are held up, one-by-one, as the numbers are announced to the excited crowd.  There is a collective groan as the final number is shown and everyone there realizes their dreams of money have gone up in smoke.  (Caution: revealing swimwear)


Nina is home from Stanford and she tells her father that life for a girl from the barrio wasn't easy among the wealthy elite.  Nina: "The truth is that most of the time I'm at Stanford feels like a betrayal.  Of my family, my community."  She tells her father a story of a time she was invited to a "diversity dinner" with a bunch of wealthy donors.  One of the donors saw her, a Latina in a black dress, and assumed she was a waitress.  Nina: "One of the patrons shoved her plate into my arms and said, 'I ordered the vegetarian option.'"  She tells how all of the servers were Latino like herself and they were all watching her to see what she would do: "Is she with us, or is she with them?"  Kevin: "There's no shame in waiting tables.  And there's no shame in having a different path, like you."


Leslie Grace

Nina is home from Stanford, after spending a year feeling lonely and out of place among the nation's wealthy and elite.  She knows that everyone in her community has counted on her to succeed and she fears disappointing them because all she wants to do is come home.  As she walks down the street, telling herself to just breathe, everyone greets her happily, seeing her as their hope, their example of someone who made it out of poverty.  Nina, singing: ♪ "They regard me with pride.  And everyone's sweet.  They say, 'You're going places.'  So how can I say that while I was away I had so much to hide?  'Hey guys, it's me...the biggest disappointment you know.'  The kid couldn't hack it.  She's back and she's walking real slow." ♪ Nina tries to keep a smile on her face as person after person approaches her, obviously looking up to her as their ideal.  But Nina feels far from ideal.  In fact, she feels like a failure: ♪ "What do I say to these faces that I used to know?  They're not worried about me.  They are all counting on me to succeed.  I am the one who made it out!  The one who always made the grade.  But maybe I should have just stayed home." ♪ Nina, coming near to tears, counsels herself: ♪ "Straighten the spine.  Smile for the neighbors.  Everything's fine." ♪ She sees her father and she thinks of how she is letting him down.  And she tells herself one more time: ♪ "Just breathe." ♪


Abuela is lying in bed, her heart about to give out.  She thinks back over her life and remembers a lifetime of struggle.  She sings of her childhood in Cuba, where hunger drove her mother to emigrate to America for a job.  But reality tarnished their dreams of a better life.  Abuela's mama constantly reminded her to have "paciencia y fe" (patience and faith) as they struggled just to survive.  Abuela, singing: ♪ "Fresh off the boat in America.  Freezing in early December.  Learning the ropes in America." ♪ Her mother found a job cleaning houses for the rich, where she had to work hard for very little.  Abuela, remembering: ♪ "Sharing double beds.  Trying to catch a break.  Struggling with English.  So we cleaned some homes, polishing with pride, scrubbing the whole of the Upper East Side.  The days into weeks, the weeks into years, and here I stay.  Paciencia y fe." ♪ As she sings, Abuela walks down a subway corridor in her mind: ♪ "I made it through.  I survived.  I did it.  Now, do I leave or stay?" ♪ She looks back down the tunnel where she came from, then turns and looks ahead, where a bright light awaits.  Back in reality, Abuela smiles in her bed and closes her eyes.  In the dream world, she sings: "Paciencia y fe!"  Then she climbs the subway stairs and enters the light.
