ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

## How We Use Cookies

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

Woodrow listens with growing amazement as his father and grandfather blandly discuss the mundane details of their future life.  He can't believe they aren't more affected by their recent earth-shattering experience of an alien visitation.  Woodrow: "How can you two even think about this?  The world will never be the same!  What happens next?  Nobody knows!  Will he visit us again?  Will he speak to us?  What will he say?  What's out there?  Something.  The meaning of life...maybe there is one!"  Grandfather: "I hope you're still Episcopalian."  Woodrow can't believe that his father, who took a picture of the alien, doesn't seem at all interested in the meaning behind the event.  Augie, shrugging: "I'm a photographer."  Woodrow sighs in frustration, walking away, muttering: "Episcopalian?"


Augie and Midge are talking from the windows of their respective bungalows.  Midge, bluntly: "I'm not a good mother.  I love my daughter, but I'm not a good mother, because, unfortunately for her, she's not my first priority.  On account of there's always already the thing I plan to do next.  I love my daughter, by the way.  I love all my children.  We have a magical time when we're together.  I have another girl and a boy.  They live with my second ex-husband in Utah.  He rarely sees them, either.  I wish I felt guilty, at least, but I don't experience that emotion, if I understand it correctly."  Augie: "So, you're saying you've never felt guilty in real life?"  Midge, matter-of-factly: "Not to my knowledge."  Midge tells him she thinks it has something to do with the violent men in her past.  Augie, also an emotionally distant parent, admits that he puts his job as a war photographer before his children.  Augie: "Nobody can compete with that, can they?"  Midge: "Probably not.  I did a USO tour once.  It was thrilling."  Thinking for a moment, Midge tells Augie they are two peas in a pod: "Two catastrophically wounded people who don't express the depths of their pain because...we don't want to.  That's our connection.  Do you agree?"  Augie: "Uh-huh.  Let's change the subject, shall we?"


Augie, an emotionally stunted but grieving man, sits his children down to tell them their mother has died: "To put it bluntly, after all the surgeries, therapies, and interventions, after two years of struggling and suffering, she succumbed to her illnesses.  I'm sorry.  I didn't know how to tell you then.  I couldn't figure out how to tell you later."  Woodrow, the oldest: "You're saying our mother died three weeks ago?"  Augie, simply: "Yes."  The three little girls don't understand and ask when their mother is coming back.  Augie: "She's not coming back.  Let's say she's in heaven.  Which doesn't exist for me, of course, but you're Episcopalian."  Augie gives his children a perfunctory hug and shows them the Tupperware container of their mother's ashes.  Augie tells his children about the death of his own father.  "My mother told me, 'He's in the stars.'  'He's not in the stars,' I said.  'He's in the ground.'  She thought it would comfort me.  She was an atheist.  The other thing she'd say, which is incorrect, 'Time heals all wounds.'  No.  Maybe it can be a Band-Aid.'"


J. J.'s son, Clifford, is always asking people to dare him to do dangerous things.  While J. J. tries to work out a business deal with the hotel manager, Clifford interrupts repeatedly: "You dare me?"  J. J. has had enough: "I don't care anymore.  I dare you or I don't dare you.  It doesn't matter.  Do what you wish.  I give up."  J. J. sighs, thinking for a moment before turning back to his son: "What's the cause?  What's the meaning?  Why do you always have to dare something?"  Clifford looks stunned, never having explored the motive behind his habit: "I don't know.  Maybe it's because I'm afraid...otherwise, nobody'll notice my existence in the universe."  Clifford looks away, tears beginning to form in his eyes.  J. J. and the hotel manager are moved enough to ask the boy what he wants them to dare him to do.  Clifford: "To climb that cactus out there."  J. J. sighs heavily: "Lord, no."  Manager: "Please, don't."


The Junior Stargazer Honorees are eating their lunch together.  All except Woodrow, who sits nearby on a cooler.  Dinah, noticing Woodrow: "Why are you sitting there all by yourself?"  Woodrow looks around, seemingly confused: "Hmm?"  Dinah: "Are you shy?"  Woodrow: "I'm a late bloomer.  So I've been told by my parents."  Indeed, the boy is extremely awkward, with his black socks pulled all the way up his shins and a patch labelled, "Brainiac," attached to his shirt pocket.  Clifford: "Are you intimidated by us?"  Woodrow, honestly: "No."  Clifford tells the other kids to stare at Woodrow as part of a "personality test."  Clifford watches the boy intently before declaring: "I agree.  Shy but not intimidated."  Ricky invites the boy to join them at the table.  Talking with him, the others learn that Woodrow's mother has just died.  They give their quiet support.  And, when Clifford does a scientific experiment involving jumping off a roof, Woodrow knows he's found his people.  Woodrow: "I love gravity.  It might be my favorite law of physics at the moment."


Augie walks off the set with six and a half minutes until his next line.  He feels he must have a better understanding of the play before he can continue acting out his character.  He walks into the director's room, confronting Schubert: "Am I doing him right?"  Schubert: "You're doing him just right.  In fact, in my opinion, you didn't just become Augie, he became you."  Augie: "I feel lost."  Schubert: "Good."  Augie: "He's such a wounded guy.  I feel like my heart is getting broken--my own personal heart--every night."  Schubert: "Good."  Augie: "Do I just keep doing it?"  Schubert: "Yes."  Augie: "Without knowing anything?"  Schubert: "Yes."  Augie: "Isn't there supposed to be some kind of an answer out there in the cosmic wilderness?  Woodrow's line about the meaning of life?"  Schubert, quoting: "Maybe there is one."  Augie: "Right.  Well, that's my question!  I still don't understand the play."  Schubert: "Doesn't matter.  Just keep telling the story.  You're doing him right."

Augie and his children are driving through the desert when their car breaks down just outside Asteroid City.  The town mechanic examines the vehicle and tells Augie that the problem could be one of two things.  The first is a simple fix, requiring only a cheap part and little labor.  The second will be a "difficult, costly, time-consuming disassembly and re-mantling of the entire drive-train and lubrication mechanism," which won't work anyway.  The mechanic points to a rusty junk heap sitting just outside.  This was the victim of the second scenario, destroyed by an explosion caused by the problem.  Augie: "Which one have we got?"  Mechanic, pulling out a tiny part: "We're about to find out."  The mechanic carefully screws in the part and then turns on the engine.  When the car starts up nicely, everyone breathes a sigh of relief: "You got the first one."  But then, a loud boom is heard and smoke bursts out of the tailpipe.  The engine stalls and a strange-looking part flies out of the body and wriggles on the ground, shooting sparks.  Augie: "What's that?"  Mechanic: "I don't know.  I think you've got a third problem we've never seen before."
