ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

## How We Use Cookies

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

It's Norman's birthday party and he wants to play Spin the Bottle.  The kids all stand in a timid circle, anxiously watching the bottle spin until it stops to point at Janie.  The other kids laugh and tease, but Janie just looks horrified.  She side-eyes Norman as he eagerly approaches.  All the girls giggle as he plants a chaste kiss on her cheek.  Janie, disgusted, wipes it off.  Next, it's Janie's turn.  She spins the bottle and they all watch, knowing what to expect this time.  The bottle points at Norman.  Everyone except Janie laughs.  Norman grins: "This is a great party."

Margaret has just met her mother's parents for the first time.  (They disowned their daughter when she married a Jewish man.)  She sits in the living room with the two of them as they try to start a relationship with the twelve-year-old.  After a little small talk, Margaret's grandfather asks her: "So, uh, we were wondering...do you go Sunday school?  Or have you ever thought about it?"  Margaret doesn't know how to answer, and doesn't really get a chance to.  Her Jewish grandmother, Sylvia, answers: "Nope.  Never.  Not once.  You're wasting your time because Margaret went to Temple and she's Jewish."  Just then, Margaret's parents walk into the room.  They are upset because they have deliberately tried to keep religion out of the home and want Margaret to wait to decide until she's an adult.  But both sets of grandparents desperately want Margaret to follow their respective faiths.  Sylvia: "You left the room and they're trying to convert her."  Grandpa: "Margaret has a right to be baptized if she wants to be."  Margaret watches helplessly as an argument breaks out among her loved ones.  The grandmas stand to face off, each claiming Margaret for their own religion.  Mom breaks in: "Margaret is nothing!  Margaret is not Jewish or Christian!  She is no religion until she decides!"  This statement only fuels the fire of the disagreement and voices raise into a full-blown fight.  Finally, Margaret has had enough.  Her family has done nothing but make religion distasteful to her.  She screams at them to stop: "It's all so stupid!  I don't want a religion!  I don't care!  I don't even believe in God!"  She runs upstairs to her room.


Margaret has just learned that her family is moving to another state.  She sits alone in her bedroom, struggling with pain over the losses she will face.  In her desperation, she decides to talk to God about it.  Margaret, looking vaguely around the room as if unsure of where to direct her prayers: "God?  Are You there, God?  It's me, Margaret Simon.  Um...I just wanted, well...First, I've heard a lot of great things about You."  From there, Margaret spills out her heart regarding the move, begging God to stop it, or to at least make New Jersey not so bad.  


Barbara leads a nervous Margaret up to the saleslady in the undergarments section of the mall.  She tells the woman they are shopping for a first bra.  Saleswoman, pursing her lips and looking at poor Margaret's chest: "Hmm.  Well, we don’t have many that small."  The saleslady proceeds to measure Margaret right in the middle of the store.  Margaret looks uncomfortable and her discomfort only grows when the woman announces she is too small for anything other than a Gro-Bra: "So, one day, when you do grow, it'll grow with you."  Back in the dressing room, Barbara helps Margaret try on the bra (nothing below the shoulders is shown).  Barbara: "How's that feel?"  Margaret, looking pained: "I cannot wait to take it off."  Barbara: "Yeah.  Welcome to womanhood."

Margaret has been paired with Laura for the class project.  Having heard nasty rumors about the girl all year, Margaret isn't excited.  And, when a disagreement breaks out, Margaret quickly turns the conversation to Laura's supposed character: "I know all about the stuff that you do."  Laura: "What's that supposed to mean?"  Margaret tells Laura that she knows she goes behind the local convenience store with boys and lets them "feel her up."  Laura, who is innocent of the charges, is furious: "You're lying!"  Margaret looks at the girl who developed earlier than the rest of them and believes the rumors based on that: "I'm not lying."  Laura: "You're just like Nancy.  All you do is pick on people and make up stories."  Laura picks up her books and runs out of the library.  Stricken with guilt, Margaret realizes that she has misjudged the girl.  She chases after Laura to apologize.  Laura: "You think I don't know that all of you make fun of me like it's some kind of game?  Do you think I want to be the biggest kid in the class?  How would you feel if you were to wear a bra in fourth grade and everybody called you names just because of how you looked?"  Laura walks away with tears in her eyes.  She enters a church and goes into a confessional booth.  Margaret follows, still hoping to reconcile, but she knows she has been a part of what has been years of pain for Laura.  Margaret, praying at the back of the church: "I'm the worst person who ever lived, God.  I picked on Laura Danker just because I felt mean.  I don't want to be like Nancy.  I don't even know if I want to be friends with her anymore."

Sylvia, who is Jewish, is thrilled when her granddaughter Margaret asks to go to temple with her.  She proudly introduces Margaret to everyone as she walks into the auditorium.  Sylvia, as they are seated: "There's the rabbi.  Best in the city.  Two hours, in and out.  Bing, bang, boom."  Born into a home without an established religion, Margaret is interested in finding out about God.  She leans forward to listen, but looks at her grandmother in confusion when the Rabbi speaks only in Hebrew.  Sylvia waves her off as if it doesn't matter.  Margaret watches the ceremonies and listens to the cantor sing, but when it is all over, she is more uncertain than when she came in.  Silently, Margaret prays: "I don't know, God.  The people seem nice and I like the music, but I guess I expected something else.  I don't know what, exactly.  A feeling, maybe?"  


When Margaret learns her family is moving to another state, she is devastated.  Change is hard for a kid and Margaret dreads switching schools, missing friends, and leaving her beloved Grandma.  Margaret's parents try to get her to see what an opportunity the move will bring them.  Margaret's mom will be able to quit her job and stay home, they will have more time as a family, and they will get to move out of city life and into a nice neighborhood.  Margaret still isn't convinced, but she agrees to try to believe her parents that it will be a good thing for their family.  Grandma is shaking her head in the background.  They all lean in for a group hug, including Grandma, who can't help from commenting: "I'm never gonna see you again."
