  • HELP PREVIEWING & DOWNLOADING CLIPS

  • How to I preview a Clip?

You can preview available Clip Downloads from any “Movie Detail” page by simply clicking the large orange [PREVIEW] button. Once this button is selected, and after a few seconds, the Clip will automatically start playing the Scene. The files we use for preview are Flash files (.flv) and are being played from a Flash player automatically (a Flash player comes preloaded with Windows Internet Explorer and most other browsing software). If for some reason the Clip you selected does not start to play in a few seconds, try closing all internet windows, reopen your internet browser, go to the site and try again (you can also try closing all programs and restarting your computer). If this doesn’t fix the problem, please contact your computer specialist and also send us an email at support@screenvue.com, to make sure it is not an issue on our end.

  • How do I download a Clip for later playback?

You can download available Clip Downloads from any “Movie Detail” page by simply clicking the large orange [DOWNLOAD] button.

    • Once this button is selected, a separate window will appear entitled: “Clip Downloads.” This will list the short synopsis, scene ID number and movie title of the Clip you’ve selected. It will also show the format type(s) and file size. If you have a broadband connection, the download time will be reduced substantially.
    • Next, click the orange [DOWNLOAD] button next to your chosen format. You may have to wait 10 - 60 seconds for the Windows “File Download” box to appear (so be patient and ignore the temptation to click other things) asking you: “Do you want to open or save this file?” It will also show the name of the file (the same ScreenVue Clip ID number), the file type and where the file is being downloaded from (our server).
    • Select the [Save] button to continue or select [Cancel] to abort (if you select [Open], the file will take the time to load into your PC’s memory, then start to play, but will not be saved anywhere on your hard-drive).
    • After clicking [Save], the Windows “Save As” screen appears, allowing you to choose a place on your computer to save this Scene. You may want to choose saving it to your “Desktop,” and decide later where to store your ScreenVue downloads, or you may have already created a file elsewhere on your PC where you can now direct the download to be saved to.
    • After making your destination selection, press the [Save] button. A new Windows box will appear showing you the progress of your download.
    • Note: the download bandwidth is shared by other CCLI services. If you are trying to download during "rush hour (during the middle of the day, especially on Wednesdays and Fridays)," the "Transfer rate" of KB per Second, will be much slower (it should be somewhere around 300KB/Sec - 1MB/Sec - depending on your bandwidth). Downloading will be much faster if you try very early in the morning, late evening or night when server demand is minimal.
    • Once this is finished, click the [Close] button.
    • The file has now been downloaded to your PC’s hard-drive at the location you previously selected.
  • How do I play back a Clip I've downloaded?

Downloaded Clips are stored as MPEGWindows Media, QuickTime or AVI files which are supported by most Microsoft Windows and Macintosh Computers. These files are named with extensions ".mpg, .wmv, .mov, .avi" and in most cases, play automatically by opening the file. For Microsoft Windows, you may want to upgrade to the latest Windows Media Player

  • If I'm having trouble downloading a Clip- what steps should I try first before contacting ScreenVue?

    • Clear all internet temp files, reboot your PC, reopen the scene and try downloading it again.
    • Check and make sure your security setting is not set too high. If it is, it may only download a portion of the scene and then stop.
    • Check and make sure any anti-virus software on your PC is not blocking the download.
    • Try downloading and playing the scene from a different PC.
